Bend in the River is a hidden gem along the Jordan River Parkway that is a truly natural area park. The interactive infrastructure in the park provides activities for kids alongside beavers and birds.

The park came about through a partnership between SLC Parks, the University of Utah’s Lowell Bennion Center, and nearby neighbors to create an urban site devoted to ecological restoration, volunteer work, education, and research. On this site there is an outdoor classroom available for hands-on exploration and discovery, areas dedicated to the restoration and riparian improvement, and also serves as a place for the surrounding residents to gather and gain a sense of community.
