At their May 3, 2022 meetings, the Council:
- Received Mayor Mendenhall’s proposed budget for the next fiscal year beginning in July. The proposed budget includes property tax and fee increases to reflect the increased costs of maintaining a growing city, as well as additional funding for the development of affordable housing in the City.
- The Council scheduled two public hearings for the annual budget at 7:00 p.m. on May 17th and June 7th

- Continued discussing potential changes to the City Council district boundaries, a required process every ten years following the federal census.

- Discussed Budget Amendment No. 7’s proposed amendments to the City’s fiscal year 2021-22 budget, which include:
- Funding for the new Community Connection Center building improvements
- Funding to purchase eight additional mobile surveillance trailer cameras for the Police Department
- Matching funds to improve the competitiveness of the application for Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Planning Grant, which would be used to study potential infrastructure improvements for east-west transportation and connectivity within the City
