Finding Legal Help

Finding legal help is an intimidating process. Trying to figure out what rights you have and don’t have can leave you spinning. The law is not written in plain English and even for those with a high level of education it can be confusing. Luckily, there are places for you to find help understanding the law, your rights, and the steps you need to take to protect yourself.

Utah State Bar Services

The Utah State Bar association can help you get in contact with a lawyer or legal service that works within your budget. The Utah State Bar offers many different helpful services including pro-bono/reduced cost referrals, free legal clinics, and a lawyer search tool that can help you find the right lawyer for you.

Legal Clinics

A legal clinic is a free place to go for help getting legal information. Legal clinics will not represent you, but they will help equip you with the knowledge and resources to have a fighting chance. The Utah State Courts keep a comprehensive list of free legal clinics in your area.

Licensed Lawyer

Licensed Lawyer is the Utah State Association’s lawyer finding tool. This tool will help you find a lawyer that fits your needs.

Utah Legal Service

Utah Legal Services is a non-profit law office that offers free legal help in non-criminal cases to low income Utahns.
