SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall and the Salt Lake City Council issue the following joint statement regarding the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

“Since February 24th, 2022, Ukraine has been under attack. This fact is not lost on us and today Salt Lake City is thinking about our sister city Chernivtsi. We admire the strength, compassion, and courage demonstrated by the residents of Chernivtsi and other Ukrainians currently dealing with this unprecedented crisis.  Today, as an entire city, we want to let the people of Chernivtsi know that they are always in our thoughts, and we are sending a signed flag of our City as a gesture of solidarity in recognition of their daily bravery.”

Salt Lake City also wishes to highlight several organizations that are doing great work to ease the suffering in Ukraine and encourage support and donations to several organizations.
