Parents, teachers and administration worked together to build a 60 x 60 foot garden in 2013. The garden allowed the school to meet its classroom participation goals for multiple years running as 10 classes grew seedlings indoors and 12 other classes planted them into the outdoor garden to finish growing. Salad parties were held in a few classes as well to celebrate the completion of the project. A covered shade structure was implemented to create a more inviting space that could be enjoyed for longer periods of time. Their mission is to create opportunities for more hands-on science and nutrition, as well as to strengthen community friendships. For more information visit the garden’s website/a>.
