The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is preparing the Parley’s Interchange Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate the short- and long-term needs of the I-80/I-215 eastside interchange. The purpose of the study is to improve safety, reduce congestion, increase regional mobility and update the current design of the interchange.
The study is in the process of refining alternatives and is considering suggestions and comments brought forward during the Alternative Development comment period. Each option provided by the public will be evaluated to ensure they meet safety and engineering standards, future congestion levels on the interstate and local streets, and UDOT and Federal Highway Administration interstate access requirements. The results of those evaluations will be summarized in an Alternative Screening report to be released in fall 2018.
