Roxana first joined the west wing of the Mayor’s office in 2020. She now serves as the Language Access Coordinator. She brings almost two decades of professional experience in journalism, communications, and public Involvement.

She has worked for the Salt Lake Tribune, Utah’s superintendent of public education, the private sector as a consultant, and most recently the Mayor’s communication team.

At age 12, she immigrated to the United States from Honduras with her family. she grew up and completed her undergrad degree in Minnesota. She has resided in Utah since 2006 and have since developed an appreciation for all things outdoors.

As a native Spanish speaker, she has experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating an English-only world. She looks forward to working together to build language access capacity and continuing the path toward creating equitable and inclusive opportunities for every resident regardless of their background or language abilities.
