Through SLC’s Computers for the Community we’re giving the City’s surplus electronics a second life. A growing amount of e-waste are not items that have stopped working or have become obsolete. However once devices do reach the end of life, we’re educating the community about responsibly disposing devices.
Electronic waste, or e-waste, contains toxic compounds such as lead and mercury, and therefore should not be disposed of in your regular garbage containers. Please recycle old laptops and computers properly by taking items to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility at the Salt Lake County Landfill or by reaching out to Call 2 Haul to schedule a pick up.
Salt Lake City offers Call 2 Haul for large bulky items that don’t fit or belong in your weekly curbside containers, like old furniture, mattresses, appliances, refrigerators, tires, electronic waste, and bulky green waste.
