Salt Lake City

Mayor's Office

Erin Mendenhall | (801) 535-7704 |

As our City continues to move forward, it is critically important we prioritize the environment and sustainability in everything we do. Salt Lake City has adopted its own aggressive clean energy plan, Climate Positive 2040, which details the City’s two main goals: transition our community’s electricity supply to 100 percent clean energy by 2032, and reduce community greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2040.

Our Department of Sustainability has been incredibly busy, working to ensure we meet our goals. From implementing an energy benchmarking ordinance to completing new solar panel installations across seven government facilities, Salt Lake City is focused on clean air and a sustainable future.
