Nate Salazar was raised in the East Central neighborhood. Nate holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Community Based Practice, and currently teaches at the University of Utah School of Social Work. He previously served as the Community School Director of South Kerns Elementary through United Way of Salt Lake, a Juvenile Justice Services Coordinator with Salt Lake Observation and Assessment, and Field Office Manager with Organizing for America Colorado. He is the president and co-founder of the Frank Cordova Foundation, and has served on numerous boards in the city. Outside of work, Nate enjoys golf, teaching, and grassroots community activism.
