The City Creek trails project is located above and below Bonneville Boulevard in lower City Creek Canyon. There are two trails totaling approximately 3.5 new construction miles.
- East City Creek Trail (BST) (currently signed as “Morris Meadows Trail”): This moderately-wide, gradual 1.5-mile trail connects the Bonneville Boulevard Trailhead to the Meadow Trail in the Upper Avenues, utilizing the upper section of the existing BST alignment. The top ½ mile section west of the bike park will be constructed later this spring. This trail is intended to accommodate the majority of trail users accessing trails above the Avenues neighborhood in the central Foothills, specifically multi-directional hiking, and uphill bicycle traffic. Bicycles descending into City Creek are prohibited from this trail to increase safety by reducing conflicts and collisions and should use the BST/19th Ave Trail, part of the Morris Mountain Trails project.
- Lower City Creek Loop: This rolling contour trail traversing the slopes above Memory Grove on the east and above Bonneville Boulevard on the west provides a desirable natural-surface vista trail in lower City Creek Canyon.
- This trail is open to hiking but closed to biking. Dogs are allowed on-leash and on-trail. Dogs may remain off-leash in the designated area of the Freedom Trail.
