Salt Lake City will rebuild 600/700 North from 800 West to Redwood Road starting in 2025. The street is being designed to improve safety, provide more comfortable facilities for people walking, biking, and using transit, and to create a more welcoming corridor.

In 2024, 300 North will be reconstructed from 300 West to 1000 West. Pavement, sidewalk, ADA ramps, bike lanes, and curb and gutter will be replaced to create a safe, comfortable environment for everyone using the road.

Virginia Street Reconstruction (South Temple to 11th Avenue)

Virginia Street from South Temple to 11th Avenue will be reconstructed in 2024. Key components of the design concept include continuous sidewalks on the west side, uphill bike lanes, traffic calming elements, improved bus stops, and intersection safety improvements.

West Temple Reconstruction (North Temple to 400 South)

The West Temple reconstruction project will rehabilitate the aged pavement from North Temple to 200 South and provide additional features to make the road safer for those driving, walking, and biking from North Temple to 400 South.

1300 East (2100 South to 3300 South)

Salt Lake City completed an environmental study to evaluate design options and select improvements for 1300 East between 2100 South and 3300 South. The study will help the team identify gaps in the existing transportation network; challenges faced by those traveling between Sugar House and Millcreek; and improvements for vehicle, pedestrian and bike mobility and safety. Construction is scheduled for 2025.

Highland Drive Reconstruction (Warnock Avenue to Logan Avenue)

Highland Drive will be reconstructed in 2023 as part of the Funding Our Future bond. This provides a unique opportunity to implement a roadway design that creates safe, inviting, sustainable, and comfortable travel choices, while providing the last needed connection to the Parley’s Trail in Salt Lake City.

200 South Reconstruction –  Transit Priority Corridor & Complete Street

The 200 South Reconstruction project design considers the variety of needs of a functional downtown, urban core and will rebuild 200 South to improve mobility and safety for all users.

As part of this project, the 9-Line Trail corridor will be an attractive, safe, and inclusive place for neighbors, businesses, and street users. A new trail will also introduce a walking and bicycling connection between east and west Salt Lake City, linking neighborhoods, business districts, and cultural destinations.

Alleyway Pilot Program

In 2021, work began on on the first alleyway in Salt Lake City that will be rejuvenated through the City’s Alleyway Pilot Program. Construction on the 850-foot alley in the Liberty Wells neighborhood will increase functionality for the adjoining residents as well as the communities the alley connects.
