Appointment
Judge Jojo Liu joined the Salt Lake City Justice Court in June 2022, after being appointed by Mayor Erin Mendenhall.

Previous Experience
Before joining the court, Judge Liu served as the head of the Salt Lake County Office of Criminal Justice Initiatives.
She also worked with the Salt Lake County Criminal Justice Advisory Council (CJAC).

From 2007 to 2015, she taught law at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where she co-led the Juvenile Justice Clinic.

Professional Involvement
Judge Liu is a member of the Utah State Bar Access to Justice Commission.
She helped launch the First Star Foster Youth Academy at the University of Utah.

Education
She earned her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and her law degree from Columbia University.
