Salt Lake City Accessibility

Salt Lake City is committed to making our programs, services, and public spaces accessible to everyone.

We believe accessibility benefits all residents, visitors, and employees, helping our community live, work, and thrive together.

About the ADA and Our Mission

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal law that protects the rights of people with disabilities.

Under the ADA, Salt Lake City ensures equal access to:

  • City facilities, sidewalks, and streets
  • Programs, services, and events
  • Digital content and communication tools
  • Employment and hiring practices

Our mission is to remove barriers, promote inclusion, and create an accessible city for all.

Our Focus Areas

We are working to ensure that sidewalks, curb ramps, crosswalks, and public buildings are accessible and safe. If you notice a barrier in the public right-of-way, please report it here.

If you feel you were treated unfairly or differently when using city programs, services, meetings, or events, you can file a formal complaint here. The City will review your complaint and respond as required by law.
