Judge Katherine Peters joined the Salt Lake City Justice Court in 2019. She earned her law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2001. Early in her career, she worked at a law firm that focused on property tax cases. After that, she spent 17 years as a Deputy District Attorney for Salt Lake County. In that role, she handled many types of cases, including misdemeanors, violent felonies, homicides, and sexual offenses, some of which were high-profile cases. Judge Peters has worked in both adult and juvenile courts.
Currently, she serves on the JPEC Juror Survey Subcommittee and has also been a member of the Self-Represented Parties Committee.
