Hollywood Avenue

Responsive Margin

June 2026 Update: Paving is underway on Hollywood Avenue. Once the new asphalt road is complete, crews will finish remaining items such as landscaping restoration and adjustments around utility lids. Residents, if you have outstanding landscaping or irrigation concerns, please reach out to the project team so they can be addressed before the project is completed.

Overview

Salt Lake City will reconstruct Hollywood Avenue between 1900 East to 2000 East. Work will include full reconstruction of the asphalt roadway as well as upgrading curb ramps to meet current ADA standards. Sidewalk, driveway approaches, curb, and gutter will be replaced as needed. See map below for specific locations of work. Actual work activities may vary as real word project conditions evolve. Construction is expected to take approximately 4–5 weeks to complete. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather, site conditions, and material availability.

What to Expect During Construction

  • Daytime construction noise, dust and intermittent access limitations Monday to Friday while reconstruction is taking place
  • 7 day cure time on new concrete infrastructure, including drive way approaches
  • On-street parking restrictions

Landscaping and Irrigation

Landscaping may be disturbed during construction. The project team will restore impacted landscaping in kind. This may include replacing grass with seed or sod and replacing flowers, bushes, or shrubs with the same or a similar species and size. If you have questions about landscape restoration, please contact the project team at [email protected].

Construction will take place adjacent to front yards, park strips, and other landscaped areas where irrigation is present. Crews will do their best to avoid irrigation lines and sprinkler heads. We proactively look for and repair irrigation issues caused by construction, but if you notice a problem that has not yet been addressed, please contact the project team. If irrigation infrastructure is damaged during construction, we will coordinate repairs. The project team cannot reimburse for repairs completed by third parties.

Trash Service

Garbage collection will continue as normal. Please set your bins out as usual, crews will move them if needed.
