Services
Landlord/Tenant Program
Under this program, all residential rental properties, including single and double family homes, boarding houses and fraternities/sororities, require a business license. However, with participation in the Landlord/Tenant program, per unit licensing fees can be discounted by up to 95%.
Duration: 30-minute appointments.

If you engage in any business – either permanently or temporarily – within the corporate limits of Salt Lake City, you are required to maintain a valid, unexpired business license.

Hearings and Collections
Collections Appointment
Most parking/Civil citations are sent to the Salt Lake City Collection Unit after 41 days from the issue date. If your citation is over 41 days, you may request to speak with a Collections Officer in person to resolve the matter.
Duration: 30 minutes appointment.
Parking/Civil Hearing
- Parking citations must be contested within 20 calendar days from the date the ticket is issued.
- You may have your citation reviewed by a Hearing Officer from Day 21-39. If your citation is older than 40 days, then you must contact the Collections Department at 801-535-7100.
- If you already had an Online Hearing, do not make an in-person appointment without first contacting our office at 801-535-6116 for more information.
- Be sure to have all photos, receipts and any supporting evidence before you start your appeal.
- If the citation was issued to a vehicle while it was stolen, a complete police report (not just the police report number) must be included. Please request a police report from local police department.
- Note: Only one hearing can be conducted per citation.
