Infrastructure, sustainability, homelessness needs are among top priorities in Mayor Biskupski’s recommended Fiscal Year 2017-18 budget

Tonight, Mayor Jackie Biskupski presented a recommended Fiscal Year 2017-18 budget of $273 million to the Salt Lake City Council.

The Mayor noted the balanced budget reflects the shared priorities of the Administration and Council, and emphasizes the following:

  • Addressing homelessness
  • Improving City infrastructure
  • Promoting affordable housing
  • Advancing clean energy goals
  • Supporting dedicated and hard-working city employees

“This budget was crafted with the same fiscally responsible policies we started last year,” the Mayor said.

The City Council will now consider and approve the recommended budget. State law requires the Council to approve the annual budget by June 22, 2017.
