SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City’s Fleet Division will be participating in TNT’s final online auction of 2020, which will have vehicles, equipment, and miscellaneous items up for bid. The vehicle and equipment auction will be open from Dec. 3 to Dec. 10, 2020 and the miscellaneous items auction will be open from Dec. 3 to Dec. 9, 2020.

Bidding will be online only, but there will be an in-person preview event on Dec. 4 at the auction yard to allow bidders the chance to view units they are interested in. TNT Auction has laid out COVID-19 protocols and restrictions for the in-person preview event, all of which are outlined on the TNT website at https://www.tntauction.com/.

Government agencies from across the Wasatch Front contract with TNT Auction to host these events. Bidders receive competitive prices for models and equipment that are seasonally relevant and have been maintained by highly qualified mechanics. Salt Lake City’s Fleet Division has a combined total of 725 years of knowledge between its 31 shop technicians.

These auctions allow the division to repurpose vehicles and recapture revenue by selling used vehicles and equipment before they can no longer be maintained at a reasonable price to taxpayers. The revenue that the Fleet Division generates from this auction goes toward vehicle replacement funds for newer or more fuel-efficient models.

Each of the auctions has an online catalog that potential buyers can browse before bidding officially opens on Dec. 3. Some units up for auction this quarter include a 2014 Kia Optima, Kawasaki 4×4 Mule, Chevrolet Silverado with a plow attachment and a Chevrolet Tahoe, 2006 Pierce Quantum (fire truck), an Airman and Sullair trailer mounted air compressor, and more.
