SALT LAKE CITY — Stitch Fix, Inc. (NASDAQ: SFIX), the world’s leading online personal styling service, will soon open a distribution center in the northwest quadrant of Salt Lake City, creating approximately 400 jobs in the region within the first year of operations.

“Companies like Stitch Fix that prioritize equity and economic opportunity will always find a warm welcome in Salt Lake City,” Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall said. “I’m confident they will be a valuable partner in promoting ideals that closely align with ours while also expanding and succeeding in business.”

Headquartered in San Francisco, the fast-growing company expects to begin operations in its new 700,000-square-foot Utah facility located at 1195 North 6550 West by October 2021.

“Salt Lake City is honored to welcome Stitch Fix to Utah. It is clear that the company’s investment in the Beehive State is a testament to our business-friendly climate, access to hard-working talent, and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Ben Kolendar, Director of Salt Lake City’s Department of Economic Development, “Our world-class logistics infrastructure creates an extraordinary opportunity for growth.”

Stitch Fix has been committed to building diverse, inclusive teams since its founding by Katrina Lake in 2011. The company believes more diverse teams and leaders create better outcomes for all and is committed to increasing the number of people who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) throughout the business.

Having a female Founder and CEO has motivated the company to make gender diversity an intentional focus from day one. Stitch Fix also operates on an established system of equal pay to ensure employees are paid the same regardless of gender and/or race.

“The opportunity that we have ahead of us at Stitch Fix is extraordinary. We have seen incredible momentum in our business, and have ambitious future growth plans,” said Minesh Shah, Chief Operations Officer at Stitch Fix. “By adding Salt Lake City to our distribution network, we are able to continue to effectively and efficiently serve our clients in the Western U.S., and bring personal, inspiring, convenient and joyful shopping experiences to more people across the region.”

Applications for retail warehouse associate positions are being accepted now. Starting pay will be $16 per hour with generous full-time benefits, including paid time off and holidays, healthcare, 401k match and employee discounts starting on day one.
