The Council is considering a proposal to rezone several city-owned properties at and around Ballpark (1300 S. and West Temple) to enable redevelopment in line with the Community Reinvestment Agency’s Ballpark NEXT plan. The proposal would also update development standards for the MU-11 zone covering the site and remove sign rules that applied only to the Ballpark.
On Tuesday, July 14 at 4 p.m., the Council will receive a briefing on the proposal. This is an opportunity to learn more about the proposal. Access meeting information and agendas.

What’s Being Proposed
The proposal would make the following changes, in line with the Ballpark NEXT Community Plan:
- Rezone several city-owned properties from Public Lands and RMF-35 to Mixed-Use 11 (MU-11) and Mixed-Use 5 (MU-5).
- Allow taller buildings (up to 150 feet) along the south side of 1300 South between West Temple and Main Street.
- Require active ground-floor uses, like retail or restaurants, on buildings fronting that same stretch (south side between West Temple and Main Street) of 1300 South.
- Remove the Ballpark-specific sign rules, so signs on the site follow standard MU-11 and MU-5 requirements instead.
