Single Event or Single Event Beer Permit

Any Single Event held in Salt Lake City jurisdiction that requires a Local Consent from the Department of Alcohol and Beverage Service (DABS).

Need to know

  • Single Event applications must be submitted at least 17 days prior to the event(s). There are absolutely no exceptions to this requirement.
  • Cost is based on the type of local consent you have obtained from the DABS. Fees are listed in Salt Lake City’s Consolidated Fee Schedule.
  • If you do not get a license from the City to serve beer or alcohol within your place of business, you may be subject to enforcement action and penalties.

Before you start

Steps

1. Submit your application

Complete the online business license application.

  • Find the “Create an Account” button using the link above.
  • Enter your phone number so a business license officer can contact you.
  • Apply for single event permit.

Or, if you prefer, you can:

  • Schedule an appointment with the business licensing office or contact the office.
  • At the time of you appointment, come into our office for assistance filling out the online application at a kiosk.

2. Business license officer review.

  • A business license officer will review your application within 3 business days.
  • After all required documents are uploaded, you will receive an email to pay the licensing fee.

3. Pay licensing fees.

Fees are based on the type of Local Consent you have obtained from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services.

What’s next

  • A business license officer will review your application within 3 business days.
  • After all required documents are uploaded, you will receive an email to pay the licensing fee.
  • Once inspections have been approved, you will receive an email with your signed Local Consent to take your DABS hearing.
