As part of Salt Lake City’s 900 South Reconstruction Project, the intersection at 900 East and 900 South will be closed for approximately 30 days beginning as early as August 7. Full closure of the intersection allows for an expedited project schedule, reducing the closure time from an original schedule of 45-60 days.

Improvements in the area will include an expansion of the 9-Line Trail on the south side of the road, roadway resurfacing, and rehabilitation of existing artwork and landscaped areas.

Area businesses will remain open and need community support. Access to the 9th and 9th area will continue to be available for local and business traffic. Through traffic should use 700 East, 900 East, or 1100 East and 800 South as alternate routes.

Questions and concerns about the project and construction impacts can be directed to the project team via phone (844) 297-6884 or email at info@slc900south.com.

This work is part of the 900 South Reconstruction Project, which began in 2021. The project spans from 900 West to Lincoln Street (945 East) with the goal of creating an iconic street that connects people of all ages, abilities, and transportation choices to neighborhoods, businesses, open space, and recreation. Phase 1, from 900 West to 200 East, was completed in July 2023.

Residents can view more information about the project at 900SouthSLC.com.
