  • This is not a masonry repair program.
  • The current wait time for new applicants is 10 years.

  • The average retrofit cost is $20,000. We offer financial aid based on your income.

Before You Start

Before you start, read the description of this program. Make sure you understand what this program can do for you.

You will submit applications in Neighborly. Before you apply, you should register on the website. You should also collect required documents and check that you qualify for funding.

How Do I Register?

Registering on Neighborly is a simple process. Enter your name, your email, and create a password. If you have registered before, you do not need to register again. Just sign-in with your information. Neighborly is not compatible with the Internet Explorer web browser

Steps

  1. Submit Your Online Application.

You will submit your Fix the Bricks application online. You can find the Fix the Bricks application by selecting the ‘Housing Programs’ option in the Neighborly portal. We do not accept paper applications. You can contact us if you have questions on the application.

  2. We Review Your Application.

We check applications as you submit to make sure they are eligible. If you are not eligible, we will reject your application. If we cannot tell if you are eligible, we may contact you for more information.

What’s Next

After you submit, we will review your application. You can check the status of your application on Neighborly. Select ‘View Application’ and look in the upper left corner. Your application info, including status, will then be visible. We generally confirm applications are eligible within 2 weeks. If you are eligible, we will add your application to our waitlist. Once repairs begin, these repairs may take between 2-to-3 months.

How Long is the Waitlist?

We accept applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. The current wait time for new applicants on our waitlist is 10 years. Future changes in our funding may increase or decrease your wait time.

Our First Site Visit

When we move your application off the wait list, we will contact you about the next steps. This will include collecting setting a time for a site visit and choosing a contractor. We will not visit your home without first contacting you by phone or email. One of our team staff will always be present for our first visit.
