ADA-accessible ramps
Salt Lake City has a plan to make sidewalks and ramps accessible, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If a sidewalk or ramp is missing, damaged, or doesn’t meet ADA standards, the City will fix it, starting with the most serious issues first.
Concrete, bricks, and pavers

Salt Lake City builds and maintains storm drains, gutters, and waterways to keep streets and parking lots in the public right-of-way draining properly. This helps keep stormwater clean and streets safe. These systems use gravity to move water into catch basins and then to ponds, rivers, or lakes.
Tree-related sidewalk issues
If you own property next to a sidewalk, driveway approach, or curb and gutter, you are responsible for keeping them in good condition—even though they’re part of the public right-of-way (City Ordinance 14.32.305). The City will make repairs if the damage is caused by a city tree.
