Salt Lake City hosting open house for 1300 South Reconstruction Project Phase 2 on Wednesday, July 27

Salt Lake City is hosting an open house to discuss the 1300 South Reconstruction Project, now in Phase 2. The public is invited to learn more about the project and to offer feedback. The meeting will be held at the Sorenson Unity Center from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.

The 1300 South Reconstruction Project began in 2014 with work from State Street to 400 West. Phase 2 of the project involves reconstruction of the area from 400 West to 500 West. The Project, funded by a $2.6 Million construction bond, improves safety for pedestrians and cyclists by realigning sidewalks, updating pedestrian ramps, and improving lighting under the I-15 overpasses.

One lane of traffic will be open in each direction to accommodate the first major portions of the work currently under construction. In September, the current plan calls for the construction area to be closed for approximately 3 to 4 weeks, including on and off-ramps to I-15, with detours to be put in place at that time. Current and alternate plans will be reviewed with the public at the open house.
