As the first quarterly TNT Auction of 2020 was postponed, TNT is now hosting numerous timed online auctions in which Salt Lake City’s Fleet Division will be participating. Each auction will only feature a specific type of vehicle or equipment. The current auction is live online through May 18 and features heavy trucks and equipment. 

Bidders can register online before or during the auction period. The online catalog will open once the auction begins, and the auction yard will be open for bidders to view units from their vehicle. Appointments must be made in advance for those who want to test a unit. More information about auction protocols and restrictions can be found on the TNT website at https://www.tntauction.com/. 

Government agencies from across the Wasatch front contract with TNT Auction to host these events. TNT Auction provides pickup services prior to the event, and manages each agency’s sales during the event. Bidders receive competitive prices for models and equipment that have been maintained by highly qualified and experienced mechanics. 

Through these auctions, Salt Lake City Fleet is able to repurpose vehicles and recapture revenue by selling used vehicles and equipment before they cannot be maintained at a reasonable price to taxpayers. The auction revenue that Fleet generates goes towards vehicle replacement funds for newer and/or more fuel-efficient models. Some items that will be up for auction throughout May and June from Salt Lake City’s fleet include Chevrolet Impalas, an electric Ford Focus with less than 10,000 miles, a 15-passenger Van Maxi, numerous Kubota riding mowers, Elgin Eagle Street Sweepers, a Chevrolet Blazer, and more.
