SALT LAKE CITY — The City’s Public Services’ Fleet Division will have vehicles, trucks, and equipment up for bid at TNT Auction’s first online auction of 2021. The vehicle auction will be open from March 12 to March 18, and the trucks and equipment auction will be open from March 12 to March 16. 

Potential buyers can browse TNT’s online catalog before bidding officially opens on March 12. Items up for auction include two Kubota tractors, a Kawasaki Mule 4×2, a 4800 Winch Truck with less than 3,000 miles, a 2015 Mazda CX-5, an Ingersoll Rand trailered air compressor, and more. 

Salt Lake City Fleet and other government agencies contract with TNT Auction to host these events to repurpose vehicles and recapture revenue by selling used vehicles and items that can no longer be maintained at a reasonable price to taxpayers. The revenue that Fleet generates from this auction goes toward vehicle replacement funds for newer or more fuel-efficient models. Bidders receive competitive prices for models and equipment that have been maintained by highly qualified mechanics. 

“Our Fleet Division is always excited to offer the public the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of routinely serviced Salt Lake City vehicles,” said Nancy Bean, Fleet Division Director. “We expect our more popular and unique models, like the 2013 and 2014 Kia Optimas, to attract a lot of attention at this quarter’s auction.”

While bidding is entirely online, there will be in-person preview events to allow bidders the chance to view units they are interested in. Preview event dates vary based on the auction category. TNT Auction has laid out COVID-19 protocols and restrictions for the in-person preview events, all of which are outlined on the TNT website at https://www.tntauction.com/.
