On February 20 and 21, Public Services’ Fleet Division vehicles, trucks, and equipment will be available for bidding. An online catalog is available for viewing before the auction. 

Bidding for cars, SUVs, vans, pickups, ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, boats, and miscellaneous items will be on February 20. Bidding for cranes, aerial units, all forestry equipment, service trucks, mechanic trucks, dump trucks, truck tractors, flatbeds, step vans, and specialty trucks will be on February 21. Some notable units in the vehicles and miscellaneous auctions up for bid include several 2014 and 2015 Dodge, Chevy, and Nissan pickup trucks, several sets of golf clubs, a 2015 Vermeer woodchipper, and industrial sanders.

Salt Lake City Fleet contracts with JJ Kane Auctions to host auction events when vehicles and other items are no longer able to be maintained at a reasonable price to taxpayers. Selling used equipment recaptures revenue that goes toward vehicle replacement funds for newer or more fuel-efficient models. Auctions also allow vehicles to be repurposed and used beyond their lives with the City. Bidders receive competitive prices for models and equipment maintained by highly qualified mechanics.
