Help Grow Our Urban Forest

Did you know you can request a tree be planted in your park strip? It’s free, as long as you provide water! It’s a simple way to continue growing Salt Lake City’s urban forest of more than 90,000 trees.

Our urban tree canopy:

  • Provides cooling shade and inspiring beauty
  • Helps keep our air clean
  • Quiets urban noise
  • Calms our valley winds

Salt Lake City’s Urban Forestry Division plants trees during the dormant season (November-April) and strives to plant 1,000 trees each year. Since November 2024, 142 trees have been planted in District 6 alone! Request a free tree.

Visit Urban Forestry’s website to learn more about our urban forest and how you can help care for it.
