Public Utilities Proposes New Rates

Text: Public utilities rate study

As part of the upcoming Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget, the Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities has proposed new rates for: 

  • Water
  • Sewer 
  • Stormwater 
  • Street lighting 

These changes, resulting from a comprehensive rate study completed in 2024, aim to make rates: 

  • Fair 
  • Affordable 
  • Fund generational infrastructure projects 
  • Support Salt Lake City’s needs 

If approved, they will take effect on July 1, 2025.
