This month, I wanted to inform you about the Community Reinvestment Agency, also known as the C.R.A.
Formerly known as the Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City, the C.R.A. is an agency that carries out the development goals of communities. There are more than 90 such agencies representing cities across Utah, with Salt Lake City’s being one of the oldest. For more than 50 years, the C.R.A. has been investing in redevelopment projects and programs that shape communities and provide gap financing to encourage and leverage private sector investment.
The Salt Lake City Council acts as the Board of Directors of the C.R.A. with policy-making powers, while the Salt Lake City mayor serves as the Executive Director and has administrative power.
