About the Housing Stability Division
What We Do
Our Mission
We will develop livable, healthy, and sustainable neighborhoods. Our focus is on the core role that housing plays in the stability and well-being of Salt Lake City residents.
Our Vision
- We will serve all residents, focusing on helping low-income, at-risk, and underserved communities.
- We will administer both federal and other funding sources to achieve our goals.
- We will promote direct services, resources, and opportunities in our work.
- We will empower City residents to address the needs of unique neighborhoods.
Our Division Teams
The Office Admin Team
Our office admin team are the face of our Division. They help with billing, events, and other customer service. If you call or visit our office, they can help you find what you need.
The Community Development Team
The Community Development team, or CD team, runs most of the Division grant programs. They partner with local partners to help stabilize the community. Grants address a range of needs, including:
- Basic Needs
- Emergency Aid
- Community Improvements
- Human Services
- Affordable Housing
This team administers all federal HUD funds awarded to Salt Lake City.
The Neighborhood Improvement & Stabilization Team
The Neighborhood Improvement and Stabilization team is known as the NIS team. They work with small businesses and home owners in Salt Lake City. They help residents and businesse owners modify and repair their properties. They also provide home loans for low-income residents. This team ensures our neighborhoods are communities that can support new growth.
The Homeless Engagement & Response Team
Our Homeless Engagement and Response team is known as the HEART team. They help plan Salt Lake City’s responses to homelessness needs. These needs include:
