mySLC Mobile Privacy Statement

This Privacy Policy applies to data, including images, collected from Salt Lake City’s mobile app, mySLC Mobile.
Introduction
Welcome to mySLC Mobile, a tool designed for the citizens, constituents, and visitors of Salt Lake City. mySLC Mobile allows users to submit requests, track the progress of their cases, and communicate directly with City departments.
We do not collect personal information without your permission. Any information you volunteer or that we send to you in response is transferred using industry-standard encryption technologies. To protect against unauthorized access to your accounts, never share your username and password with anyone and only provide the necessary information to complete a transaction. The following explains The City’s privacy policy for all visitors and/or users of Salt Lake City’s mySLC Mobile app.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Information: When you use mySLC Mobile, we may collect personal information, including but not limited to your name, email address, phone number, and other contact details.
Biometric Information: If you choose to enable biometric authentication (such as fingerprint or facial recognition) to access mySLC Mobile, we may collect your biometric data. This information is used solely for authentication purposes and is not shared with third parties.
Request Information: Details related to the requests you submit, including the nature of the request, and any supporting documentation related to your request including videos, images, location services, and status updates.
Communication Data: Any communications you have with City departments through the app, including, but not limited to, messages and responses.
Usage Data: Information about how you use the app, such as your device type, operating system, app version, and IP address.
Anonymous Information: When you use mySLC Mobile anonymously, information that does not identify specific individuals is automatically transmitted by your browser. Such information includes, but is not limited to, domain names and/or IP addresses, the URL of the webpage you previously visited, and the browser version you are using to access the site. This information is used by the City to improve the functionality of the app, and is not linked to any individual.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Process and manage your requests.
- Communicate with you regarding your requests and other relevant matters.
- Improve and personalize your experience with the app.
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to enhance the app’s functionality.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Sharing Your Information
We may share your information with:
- Salt Lake City departments and City officials who need it to process your requests.
- Third-party service providers who assist us in operating the app and providing our services, under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Law enforcement or other governmental agencies to the extent required by law or in response to legal processes.

6. Biometric Information
If you enable biometric authentication to access mySLC Mobile, City only collects biometric data to the extent necessary to authenticate the user (such as limited fingerprint or facial recognition data) and such data is used exclusively for authentication purposes. This data is stored securely and is not shared with any third parties. You can disable biometric authentication at any time through the app settings.
7. Children’s Privacy
mySLC Mobile is not intended for use by children (for purposes of this Privacy Policy the terms “child” or “children” refer to individuals under the age of 13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, nor do we actively seek to determine whether a user is a child. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it. Visitors should note; however, that the City generally cannot determine the age of the individual submitting personal information, and any personal information collected from or volunteered by children online or via email will therefore inadvertently be handled in the same way as information provided by adults. This information may become a public record, and as such may be subject to public access. Consequently, we ask that parents monitor their children to avoid situations where children are inadvertently asked to provide personal information online.

The app may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and including a reference identifying the date on which the new Privacy Policy was posted. Your continued use of the app after a new Privacy Policy is posted indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
