Street sweeping
Salt Lake City’s street sweeping program helps keep leaves, dirt, and pollution out of storm drains and keeps streets clean and well-maintained. The program includes regular sweeping, emergency cleanups, and special events.
The street sweeping team goals are:
- Sweep 29,800 curb miles annually
- Make nine citywide passes annually
- Support special events and parades

When leaves aren’t managed, they can clog storm drains, cause flooding, create road hazards, and harm water quality. Taking care of your leaves helps keep Salt Lake City streets, waterways, and neighborhoods safe.
