Green garbage cart

What goes in your green garbage cart? The short answer is, everything that can’t be recycled or composted!

The short answer is — things that don’t belong in the other carts! This includes:

  • Tissues
  • Napkins
  • Disposable plates and cutlery
  • To-go containers
  • Meat
  • Dairy
  • Other non-compostable food
  • Diapers
  • Cat litter
  • Animal waste (bagged)
  • Food wrappers
  • Furnace filters
  • Styrofoam

Also: Please note that dirt, sod, and rocks can go in your garbage cart, but should be limited to 1/4 of the volume to avoid breaking the cart.

Got Dirt?

Please dispose of dirt and rocks in the green garbage bin. Remember, dirt and rocks should only fill up 1/4 of the can so as not to break it.
