Households that purchase waste and recycling services receive one curbside compost cart (it’s a wheeled cart, like your garbage can on wheels) to divert compostable yard waste and certain food items like vegetable scraps, coffee grounds and eggshells, from the landfill.
The division will provide temporary additional brown compost carts upon request. Containers can be requested any time during the year. Please note that when compost collection is temporarily suspended in the winter, temporary containers will be delivered but not serviced.
You can request 1 extra, temporary brown compost cart for 8 weeks or 2 extra carts for 4 weeks.
