My Brother’s Keeper – Salt Lake City

My Brother’s Keeper Salt Lake City (MBK SLC) is pleased to announce its recent certification from My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, an initiative of the Obama Foundation, which recognizes and supports the outstanding work being done to empower young men and boys of color in Salt Lake City. This certification is a testament to the dedication and collaborative efforts of the MBK SLC team and their partners in addressing the unique challenges faced by this demographic group.

Last week, MBK SLC had the privilege of attending the Fall Convening in Chicago, hosted by the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance and the Obama Foundation. The event provided an opportunity for the MBK SLC to engage with leaders from across the nation, gain valuable insights, strengthen their MBK action plan, enhance their affinity with the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance leadership network and staff, as well as witness an in person special address by President Barack Obama.

MBK SLC takes pride in its collaborative efforts with key partners, including the Salt Lake City Mayor’s Office, Salt Lake City Youth & Family Division, Salt Lake City School District, Utah Division of Juvenile Justice and Youth Services, University of Utah Neighborhood Partners, NeighborWorks Salt Lake, Promise Partnership of Utah, the University of Utah Black Cultural Center, and Voices for Utah Children. This holistic approach aims to comprehensively and effectively address the unique challenges faced by boys and young men of color in Salt Lake City.

In light of the recent certification, MBK SLC is committed to continuing its mission to improve the life outcomes of young men and boys of color in Salt Lake City by promoting education, career readiness, mentorship, and community engagement.
