Single Event or Single Event Beer Permit

Any Single Event held in Salt Lake City jurisdiction that requires a Local Consent from the Department of Alcohol and Beverage Service (DABS).

Need to know

  • Cost is based on the type of local consent you have obtained from the DABS.
    • Special Event with Beer Only will be $290.00.
    • Single Events will be $321.00.
  • If you do not get a license from the City to serve beer or alcohol within your place of business, you may be subject to enforcement action and penalties.

Before you start

  • Contact the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) to determine what type of license you will need.
  • You will receive a Local Consent form for which our office will complete and send back to the DABS when you have met our office’s requirements.

Steps

1. Contact the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services.

2. Submit your application.

Complete the online business license application.

  • Find the “Create an Account” button using the link above.
  • Enter your phone number so a business license officer can contact you.
  • Apply for your permit.

Or, if you prefer, you can:

  • Schedule an appointment with the business licensing office.
  • At the time of you appointment, come into our office for assistance filling out the online application at a kiosk.

3. Business license officer review.

  • A business license officer will review your application within 3 business days.
  • After all required documents are uploaded, you will receive an email to pay the licensing fee.

4. Pay licensing fees.

Fees are based on the type of Local Consent you have obtained from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services.

What’s next

  • A business license officer will review your application within 3 business days.
  • After all required documents are uploaded, you will receive an email to pay the licensing fee.
  • After the licensing fee is paid, you will receive an email with instructions on scheduling required inspections.
  • The business license office has 30 days to approve or deny a license.
