Language Access Services

Why Language Access Matters

Salt Lake City is home to many residents who do not speak English as their primary language and may have limited ability to read, write, or understand English. For these residents, limited English language skills can create real barriers to accessing City services, programs, and information.

The City is committed to ensuring everyone can access the same services and information regardless of English language skills.
Read more in our Language Access Policy.

Request Translation or Interpretation Services

Salt Lake City residents can request:

  • Translation of public City documents
  • Spoken language or ASL interpretation for official City events

We will make reasonable efforts to provide the requested service or suggest an alternative if we cannot fulfill the request.

When possible, submit your request through the City department connected to your event or document.
