The Federal Heights neighborhood is located in the northeast corner of Salt Lake City, below the Block āUā that is built into the hillside of the Wasatch Mountains.
The neighborhood was built in the 1900s when the federal government upgraded nearby Fort Douglas to Regimental Headquarters. Officers established their homesteads just north of the post.
A walkable neighborhood with access to numerous hiking trails, Federal Heights borders the Red Butte Canyon Research Natural Area and the Tomahawk Natural Area. The area boasts beautiful tree lined streets, large sidewalks, and remains deeply rooted in historic character and architectural appeal.
