2018 Construction Projects and Excavation Restrictions

In accordance with Salt Lake City Ordinance 14.32.085 (Excavation Restrictions), this publication identifies the public way projects scheduled for construction in Calendar Year 2018, including the nature of the work and excavation restrictions, and the effective date and duration of excavation restrictions.  All potential users to whom the excavation restriction applies shall submit application to the City Engineer to participate in the stated projects to address co-locating facilities or other actions as needed in the best interest of the City.  A GIS map showing the 2018 construction projection and previously established excavation restrictions can be viewed on the City’s website at: https://maps.slcgov.com/mws/excavationrestriction.htm.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM / 2018 STREET CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

Project: Street Pavement Overlay and Preservation: 1500 East from 900 South to 1300 South and 2100 East from 1700 South to Parkway Avenue

Type of Work: Street pavement milling and overlay, and specialized asphalt preservation treatments.

Public Way Restriction Area: All public way roadway excavations on overlaid or preserved streets.

Nature of Restriction: All utility excavations.

Effective Date of Restriction: Date to be determined when street pavement overlay and preservation project is completed – projected completion in September 2018.

Duration of Restriction: Three (3) years from completion date of project.

 

Project: 1200 East from 600 South to 800 South

Type of Work: Street pavement, median islands, curb and gutter, drive approaches, and drainage system improvements.

Public Way Restriction Area: All public way roadway excavations on 1200 East from 600 South to 800 South.

Nature of Restriction: All utility excavations.

Effective Date of Restriction: Date to be determined when reconstruction project is completed – projected completion of project in fall 2018.

Duration of Restriction: Three (3) years from completion date of project.

Project: 900 South Reconstruction from 950 East to 1300 East

Type of Work: Street pavement, curb and gutter, drive approaches, and drainage system improvements.

Public Way Restriction Area: All public way roadway excavations on 900 South Reconstruction from 950 East to 1300 East.

Nature of Restriction: All utility excavations.

Effective Date of Restriction: Date to be determined when street rehabilitation project is completed – projected completion in fall 2018.

Duration of Restriction: Seven (7) years from completion date of project.

Project: Gladiola Street from 500 South to 900 South

Type of Work: Street pavement, curb and gutter, drive approaches, and drainage system improvements.

Public Way Restriction Area: All public way roadway excavations on Gladiola Street from 500 South to 900 South.

Nature of Restriction: All utility excavations.

Effective Date of Restriction: Date to be determined when rehabilitation project is completed – projected completion of project in summer 2018.

Duration of Restriction: Seven (7) years from completion date of project.

Project: Citywide Roadway Street Improvements and Preservation 2016/2017: Locations including, but not limited to: Simpson Avenue from Wyoming to Broadmoor and Wilmington Avenue from 2000 East to 2100 East

Type of Work: Roadway rehabilitation.

Public Way Restriction Area: All public way roadway excavations on the streets listed in the project description.

Nature of Restriction: All utility excavations.

Effective Date of Restriction: Date to be determined when street improvements and preservation project is completed – projected completion in November 2018.

Duration of Restriction: Seven (7) years from completion date of project.

Project: Wilmington Avenue from Highland Drive to 1300 East

Type of Work: Roadway reconstruction

Public Way Restriction Area: All public way roadway excavations on reconstructed streets.

Nature of Restriction: All utility excavations.

Effective Date of Restriction: Date to be determined when street improvements and preservation project is completed – projected completion in November 2018.

Duration of Restriction: Seven (7) years from completion date of project.
