The Resident Food Equity Advisors program is an initiative of Salt Lake City’s Sustainability Department focused on creating an equitable community food system. Resident Food Equity Advisors are residents who help shape the City’s food policies and programs through a collaborative engagement process. The Advisors meet monthly to share their experience and knowledge, learn about existing food programs in Salt Lake City, and develop solutions that build on the diverse strengths of their communities. Advisors are provided a stipend as compensation for their time, effort and expertise.

The Sustainability Department is currently accepting applications for at least three additional residents to participate in the 2022-23 program. Good candidates are residents who are passionate about food, engaged in their community, and have firsthand experience of the challenges that many residents face accessing the food they want and need to thrive.

The application deadline is March 6. The program will start in April. Priority will be given to applicants from underrepresented communities who live in the Glendale, Poplar Grove, and Ballpark neighborhoods, but residents from any part of Salt Lake City are welcome to apply.
