In June 2020, Salt Lake City (SLC) became the first municipality in the State of Utah to join the Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE). Established in 2014, GARE is a national network of government agencies, with over 400 members and 36 member jurisdictions (states), working to achieve racial equity and advance opportunities for all. It is currently the only government network of its kind.
