Fairmont Park Stream Access & Beautification

This project includes improvements at the existing stream in Fairmont Park. Improvements include removal of weeds and invasive species, lining the stream with boulders to stabilize the stream, and to add new plantings of trees and shrubs.

Full Project Scope

The Fairmont Park Stream Beautification project has completed design and will be moving into construction. Public Lands will be working with a team to stabilize and reconstruct the bank, install new boulders and stepping stones, and build planting areas throughout the western portion of the stream. Upland planting areas and bridge improvements are not included in this work.

Construction is set to begin August 2022 and is estimated to be complete by the end of the year.

Background

This project was funded in 2019 as a constituent Capital Improvement Program project. This project was put on hold in early 2021 due to insufficient funding.
