Tips
- Follow the 3 Foot Rule!
- Set out carts (wheeled carts, like your garbage can on wheels) by 7 a.m. on collection day. Remove carts from the curb/street the same day, after pickup.
- Break down cardboard before placing in recycling cart.
- Place dirt in the green garbage cart, not in the brown yard waste cart. Heavy material such as dirt, rocks, mortar, etc. should only fill 25% of the garbage cart to avoid breakage.
- Remember, the brown compost cart isn’t just for leaves and sticks – you can put vegetable scraps, coffee grounds and eggshells in there too!
