Fraud Risk Assessment for Salt Lake City
The Council received the annual fraud risk assessment, with the city earning a high score of 375 out of 395 points. The Council discussed strategies to increase safety measures and knowledge of current programs, such as the city’s Fraud, Waste or Abuse Hotline.
Briefings
The Council was briefed on the following items during the work session:
- Proposals that would expand the actions a land use applicant can take to prevent an approved land use application from expiring. (Watch)
- The city’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report provided by an independent analysis firm. The audit resulted in a positive report that had no findings of misuse. (Watch)
- The development of a working group meeting in conjunction with the Mayor’s Office to discuss immigration topics. (Watch)
- An alley vacation for an unused area east of 519 E Browning Avenue. (Watch)
Next Council Meeting
Tuesday, March 10
The Council meets first as the Community Reinvestment Agency (C.R.A.) at 2 p.m., followed by the Council’s work session. The formal meeting begins at 7 p.m. and ends upon the conclusion of items listed on the agenda.

Homelessness Update
Unsheltered Utah needs volunteers for their Code Blue Movie Nights! “Code Blue” is a response to an extreme and emergent weather event when temperatures dip to 15 degrees or below, including wind chill.
Homeless Resource Centers saw a 97.2% occupancy rate from Feb. 23 – 27. The City’s next Homeless Resource Fair will be held Friday, March 13 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with the Justice Court occurring from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
