The Salt Lake City Council operates under a Mayor/Council form of government. The Council is the city’s legislative body. It consists of seven members who serve four-year terms. Each represents one of the City’s seven districts with similar population sizes.
Our City Council sets the City’s policy and priorities and adopts annual budgets and ordinances.
