2024 Legislative Session

The 2024 legislative session in Utah runs from January 16th through March 1st on Capitol Hill. During this time, Utah legislators convene to pass the state budget and create laws that shape the trajectory of the state.

Here at the City, we have a legislative team that monitors any proposed legislation in an effort to advocate for Salt Lake City, the community, and residents. This City team proactively provides feedback to legislators regarding the City’s position on various bills as they move through the legislative process. By engaging in ongoing dialogue and offering informed perspectives, we strive to ensure that the City’s positions are well-represented and considered in the decision-making process.

If you’re eager to contribute and make your voice heard, several avenues are available for participation. You can tune in to committee hearings to stay informed about legislative discussions and even provide public comments to share your insights directly. Additionally, identifying your lawmakers and reaching out to them directly is another effective way to express your concerns and advocate for issues that matter to you.
