Hello, District 6!
This month, I want to discuss the Government Records Access and Management Act, also known as GRAMA. This a vital law helps government agencies remain transparent and accountable to the public by giving citizens the right to access government records.
We value transparency because it empowers our community and strengthens our democracy. When government processes are open, the people of Salt Lake City are better equipped to understand decisions, ask questions, and hold elected officials accountable. By embracing transparency, we foster trust and encourage more active participation, helping ensure our city’s decisions reflect our community’s needs.
